Question 1

Which Macs does Squeezels run on?

Accepted Answer

Any Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14 Sonoma or newer.

Question 2

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The free version compresses up to 30 images a day. Squeezels Pro removes the daily limit and unlocks converting between formats. Get it monthly, yearly, or once for life.

Question 3

How do the Pro subscriptions work?

Accepted Answer

Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically through your Apple ID until you cancel. Cancel anytime in Settings → Manage Subscription, or in your App Store account; Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Prefer to pay once? Lifetime is a single purchase, and you can switch to it from a subscription at any time.

Question 4

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

Accepted Answer

Never. Every image is processed on your Mac by encoders bundled inside the app. Squeezels collects no data at all — purchases are handled by Apple.

Question 5

Which formats are supported?

Accepted Answer

Compress JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP and AVIF. With Pro, convert any image macOS can open — TIFF, GIF, BMP, PSD, RAW and more — to any of those five.

Question 6

How do I convert HEIC to JPG on a Mac?

Accepted Answer

Drop your HEIC photos onto Squeezels, choose Convert and pick JPEG — one image per CPU core, with EXIF and GPS stripped by default. Converting between formats is part of Squeezels Pro; the free version compresses HEIC files in place.

Question 7

Will compression make my files worse?

Accepted Answer

You choose the quality. PNG compression is lossless, and if a compressed file isn't smaller than the original, Squeezels keeps the original.

Question 8

How do I restore Pro on another Mac?

Accepted Answer

Open Settings and choose Restore Purchases. Whether you subscribed or bought Lifetime, Pro follows your Apple ID to every Mac you own.
